Halloween Parade

Yesterday morning, the kids at Rachel and Elliot's preschool / daycare dressed up in their Halloween costumes and paraded through the Jean Talon building in Tunney's Pasture -- much to the delight of the assembled parents and Stats Can employees.

Blissed out on Smarties

Here we are post trick or treating, eating Smarties. Rachel doesn't like chocolate (?!), but she likes the candy shell (we are not sure whose child she really is.) So she doused the chocolate taste with some milk. So the drill was, eat a Smartie, crunch the candy coating, take a swig of milk, swallow. She also traded her dad all her brown ones (I don't like the brown ones either) for pink ones. Glad to see she has some important problem solving skills.

Elliot celebrated with a post t&t arrowroot biscuit. Next year we bring on the REAL sugar.

This morning Rachel wanted to know if she could get dressed up again at school. I told her she had to wait until next year. However, Christmas is coming...

Trick or Treat!

Here we are out trick or treating. Rachel did a great job! We hit all the houses on our street. She shouted "trick or treat" "thank you" and stomped and roared. At the end of the street, there was one house that had a scary decoration - a skull that smoked - that freaked her out a bit, but beyond that she took it all in stride. After the skull though, we decided to call it a night.

Halloween House

Our new porch is great for decorating, and greeting all the kiddies. More pumpkins next year!

Getting ready...

Here we are getting ready to go out trick or treating. Dennis and Jeanette went out with the kids. Nana graciously stayed back to fend off the ghoulies, ghosties and long legged beasties who came knocking at the door. Only one got in - little Will from up the street marched right in the door, calling "Rachel, Rachel!"
