Uncle James' birthday party

Look who dropped in for Uncle James' birthday party? It is the folks from Mirimachi!

So, is he 13 or 31? Have a look at the candles...

Family portrait

Special thanks to Rich for managing to take this photo of a frazzled set of parents and a squirmy preschooler and toddler (who wanted to get back to blowing bubbles, splashing in the pool and playing with playdoh at Alastair's third birthday party. Who can blame them really?)

Visiting with the grandparents

Rachel and Elliot recently visited with Nana and Papa Rule and had a splash in the pool (photo courtesy of Papa).
They also visited a local park.
A favourite activity of both Rachel and Elliot is "swinging." Here is Elliot in fine form. Rachel can even hang upside down on some bars (like the one right outside daycare).

Rachel as fireperson

I think Rachel could bring some real flash and fashion to the fire profession. I think she should present her new fire person style down at city hall, where I am sure it will be appreciated. I think the fire people of Ottawa could really use some more sass and sparkle in their wardrobe - all that sooty rubber must become tiresome after a while.

Playing in Stratford - part the third

Elliot learned a whole new skill while we were in Stratford. Climbing UP the slide.
While we were in Stratford, we had a lovely visit with Auntie Rosalee...
...and Uncle Brent who have been living and working in Kuwait. We have been very blessed to be able to see them each summer while they have been away.

Playing in Stratford

We had a fantastic weekend playing with the cousins, aunties, uncles and grandparents in Stratford over the long weekend.

Super cute dogs

Rachel and Elliot's cousins, the Blaines, recently acquired two chocolate lab puppies - Max and Sasha. Aren't they adorable?

Elliot mows the lawn

The Blaines really appreciated all the help Elliot gave mowing their lawn. And boy did he love it. Even in his pajamas...
...and his convict stripes. And boy, did he ever sleep that night after all the activity with his cousins.

Fairy grandmother

I love this picture of Fairy Grandmother - it looks like she is giving pearls of wisdom to her fairy grand daughters who surround her. Fairy grandson is also there, but he is busy mowing the lawn.

Cousins

Here is Rachel with her cousins. She had a fabulous time playing dress up.
And making faces was also a highlight as you can see.

Before and After

It is amazing to me how my beautiful fairy princess...
can turn into Doctor Destructo. In two seconds or less. There is no warning.
